Adele, Zayn, Beyonce, Charli XCX Among Nominees for “NME” Awards

Alasdair McLellanAdele and Beyonce are among the nominees for this year’s NME Awards, given out annually by the long-running British music publication.

Beyonce leads all nominees with five nods, including Best Album, Best Video, Hero of the Year and Best International Female.  Adele has three nominations, including Hero of the Year and Best British Female.

Other British nominees include Zayn Malik, the band Bastille, Charli XCX and Coldplay, while the international categories include nominees such as Sia, Lady Gaga, Tove Lo, Dua Lipa, Zara Larsson, The Weeknd and Drake.

For the third year in a row, 5 Seconds of Summer are in the running for Worst Band, and their competition includes The Chainsmokers, Twenty One Pilots and Nickelback.  However, 5SOS have the advantage, having won the title twice before.

Voting for the NME Awards is open now; the winners will be announced February 15 in London.
