Francis Specker/CBSEver since Beyonce announced that she was expecting twins, there has been speculation that she would not be able to headline the Coachella festival as planned. Well, now it’s official: She’s off the bill.
A statement posted to Coachella’s Facebook page reads, “Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival….Thank you for your understanding.”
Here’s the consolation prize, though: the statement confirms that the mommy-to-be — who did perform at the Grammys a few weeks ago — will be a headliner at the festival in 2018.
No word on who will replace Bey on the Coachella lineup. The festival takes place over two weekends in April.
