Jason Derulo gets naughty with Nicki on new single “Swalla”

Warner Bros RecordsEarlier this week, Jason Derulo co-hosted ABC’s Live with Kelly, and now he’s dropped his new single “Swalla,” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign

The lyric video also is out, and it’s pretty racy.  Not only do the lyrics contain profanity, but the images are very sexual in nature, with a bare-chested Jason being groped by various half-naked women, and salacious close-ups of women’s glitter-coated lips.

“Swalla” is slang for “swallow,” and in the song, Jason invites “all you girls in here/if you’re feeling thirsty” to “c’mon, take a sip/cause you know what I’m servin’.”

The chorus then goes, “Shimmy shimmy yay, shimmy ya, shimmy yaw/Drank/Swalla-la-la.”  If that sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because it’s based on the song “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” by late Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard.  That song’s two co-writers, ODB and Wu-Tang’s RZA, are credited on “Swalla” as well.

Nicki’s verse, meanwhile, seems to take a swipe at other female rappers: “I gave these b***** two years now your time’s up/Bless her heart, she’s throwing shots but every line sucks.”

“Swalla” is the first single from Jason’s upcoming fifth album.
